Who could benefit from iPad for the Older and Wiser?Answer The Older and Wiser could surely benefit from this book but it would also be good for dummies who are too proud to buy a book for dummies As every Older and Wiser computer 'smart' phone and new fangled gadget user knows by now the uickest way to find out how to use new technology is to consult a niece nephew or grand child But what if none of the youngsters in your circle has an iPad? Though they could probably figure it out pretty uickly it would involve a lot of trial and error and they are just not motivated to learn a device unless they plan to use it Next you could consult a so called 'Genius' at the Apple Store but the minute you show any hostility or disdain for the design choices of Macs they get this attitude and won't be of much help Like why is there no USB port? What is up with that?So I found this book to be a great help with things like setting up email accounts security and how to use the camera There is a lot of good information; however some of the intricacies of the touch screen user interface are hard to describe in words and are better learned by observing an actual person doing it But for the rest of the iPad stuff this is a pretty good book And the large font size is good for elderly eyes One small uibble not really even a criticism just a silly thing that happened was that they have uizzes at the end of chapters multiple choice Skimming through you might think that it was merely a list of ways to skin a cat so to speak and that all of the answers were merely alternative methods but only a few were actually correct Slaps forehead Excellent manual It is published in the UK so sometimes you will see the word dustbin instead of garbage etc but it really helped me understand my iPad I am an IBM user so an Apple product was rather intimidating Now I love my iPad An easy read with friendly advice for senior citizens acuiring their first iPad
