Book Review originally published here my God What can I say about The Bleaklisted Books except that it’s AMAZING? This is one of the most original laugh out loud hilarious books I’ve ever read Charlie Brown is a cat who likes reading literature and giving comments about it and bleaklisting several books like Barry Potterer Prude and Perjury The Hungary Olympic Games and Other books however are almost approved by this literature savvy catIt’s hard to describe this book because it’s just so uniue I would recommend it to anyone who loves to read and who wants to view literature from the uniue and hilarious perspective of a cat ReviewI received a copy of the ePub from the authors in exchange for an honest reviewThe Bleaklisted Books is absolutely brilliant It is laugh out loud funny An original and entertaining read on every level A clever interpretation of novels including classics with a modern twist Charlie is every bit the calculating cat that the authors claim him to be I would welcome a seuel perhaps one that is a bleaklist on books turned into film Review also appeared on my blog Pages Full of Stars I have kindly received a copy of this book from authorpublisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest reviewMy rating 36Charlie is a despotic cat who wants to take over the world and dreams of his pictures hanging over mantelpieces in every household While working on world domination he makes a list of bleaklisted books books that he doesn’t like and would rather rewrite his own way Charlie talks about a lot of classics and books loved by many blatantly expressing opinions about them from his feline point of viewI have to admit that I have mixed feelings about this book Once I read the synopsis it really caught my interest because how many books are written from cat’s POV? It was funny and uirky but it had its good and bad momentsCharlie’s reviews were fun to read and it was entertaining to see how he thought the books should have been written sifting it through his filter I also found the plays on titles of the books uite entertaining But I also thought that as I read some things got uite repetitive especially the author’s notes after the reviews I noticed some inconsistencies as well when Charlie would misspell some words in his speech and then write them correctly in his reviews The Bleaklisted Books by David M Brown and Donna Brown is a uniue and hilarious read albeit it wasn’t fully for me But as the book is uite short and it reads pretty fast it’s definitely worth giving a go and maybe you will spend some entertaining moments with Charlie I received a copy of this book in return for an honest reviewThe Bleaklisted Books is rather a uniue book Written by a cat he gives a synopsis of many well known classic novels and then proceeds to tell how they should have been written Then his owner will write a note of apology to the author of the original book While some of the synopses given are amusing after reading a few of these the premise of the book uickly grows tiring Even though the books Bleaklisted by Charlie the cat are classics I haven't read all of them Therefore for me the novelty uickly wore offI usually enjoy uirky different books Your take on this may be uite different It just wasn't for me Take a cat named Charlie who fancies himself as a Napoleon who is seeking to conuer the world with a cat army After a letter to his army providing the background Charlie has provided his bleaklist of books which include Artemis Fowl The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Bridget Jones Diary and Charlotte's Web among the twenty four Charlie provides send ups of the title with suggestions on how the story should be changed where it should be sold and a new cover Mr B then provides reaction to the travesty presented The covers are the best bit If you enjoy brief parodies andor satire The Bleaklisted Books may be your cup of tea or grog or ale
