for them Until a misunderstanding and the laws of the Old Order leave them no choice but to wed Living together in Sarah's simple log cabin surrounded by the love and faith of the mountain Amish Sarah and Edward will have a heaven sent chance to truly know each other for the first timeMY REVIEWThis book has a few mild sexual content areas not to an extreme as to 'bad' or too many The story is a real story of faith and how it can help you to overcome the obstacle's that may arise in your life Kelly keeps you wanting and has me looking for books in this series I would recommend this bookseries as I find that Kelly is a great author one of my favorites and this series proves thatThis is the third book in this series but my fourth 'story' that I've read in the series There was a short story in The Amish Christmas Sleigh book This book was mildly better than the second in the series It continues the story with Edward having to marry Sarah who is a healer It shows the ups and downs of their first year of married life Sarah Mast is the newest Amish healer in her Amish Ice Mountain community She was in love with Edward King who ran off to the Englischer oil rigs to work but now he is back amongst the Amish Ice Mountain communityEdward gets caught in the cold rain and finds himself at what used to be Grossmuder May's cabin which May left to Sarah Mast since she's the healer now they both find themselves at the wrong place at the wrong time Can Edward correct his wrong doings? Is Ice Mountain still going to survive Edward's rash decision for the community? Will Sarah open her heart to Edward?Does God show Sarah Mast's father how to except her healing?I enjoy Kelly Long writing and I enjoyed reading The Amish Heart of Ice Mountain and it's message that was provided while reading it I look forward to reading of Kelly's books in the futureI received a free kindle copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review No money was exchanged This is my honest review in my own words Kelly Long brings us an Amish story which is unlike the others She writes about their intimacies than any other Amish book I have read but it is still a very good book Sarah and Edward courted secretly but after he came back from working on the Englischer's oil rig he was different She does not want to spend her life with him and lets him know Then after a night of drunkenness his grandfather got him started drinking at age 8 he finds shelter from the rain at her place Her father finds edward there with his shirt off drying Due to strict Amish order her dad orders them to marry right there He promises to not touch her which changes to not have sexual relations with her until she asks for it The trouble is he is falling in love with her and after a few catastrophes he wants to uit drinking she too loves him but wants than a relationship based on lust The interactions between the people of the Amish community as well as the conflict form the Englischman who comes to gain the rights to drill for oil on the mountain make this a great book from the start to the finishI received this book from the publisher through Goodreads and this is my honest review Kelly Long has written a series of books about the Amish of Ice Mountain “The Amish Heart of Ice Mountain” is the latest that I have read All the books were very entertaining and had a good storyline My only problem with her stories is the sections where explicit intimacies are spelled out This doesn’t seem to correspond to the Amish themes of these novels The story moves along at a good pace and is easy to read and not readily easy to put downI received a Print copy of this book from NightOwlReviewscom in return for my honest review You can find this review on my blog at Other reviews can be found at I can't believe we have to wait until next November for the next in the series The Amish Love of Ice Mountain The author uses minimal imagination The two main characters Edward and Sarah should really live in a bubble as it seems they cannot get out of bed and walk to another room without something happens that harms their body The little emotional connection between any of the characters make this book even worse that the walking disaster charactersHe loses one eye runs her down with a horse she in hospital and has a broken bones They knock over large shelves of books domino effect in the towns library A little friend has broken ribs Her little brother goes missing and when they search for him lightening hits a tree near them The get to a cave as she walks in she steps on something that rattles He miraculously shoves her out of harms way while at the same time killing the snake while at the same time spraining his ankle And he has a panic attack He uses his wife broken arm and young missing boy as crutches Oh there was no reason given for the boy to have gone missingThe little friend got broken ribs from his father so Edward sneaks out at night to confront the drunk The drunk then proceeds to whelp Edward and almost chokes him to deathSarah is angry at Edward Now her father is suddenly ill Almost dyingThat is the plot The ONLY communication they have that is beyond a few words is sex Oh I forgot she gets arrested between the rattlesnake incident and the falling library shelvesThe author should put down her pencil until she takes courses to learn to use her imagination and how a good writer has the characters emotionally connect How do you forgive yourself? How do you forgive the others?Sarah and Edward used to court But now Edward drinks and and Sarah doesn't want him in her life any But the old rules in the Amish community are strong so when Edward is found shirtless in Sarah's company his truthful comments about the strong rain outside and her being a community healer are wasted and they are to marry immediately But can a marriage like this work?Sure there is a strong chemistry between them but Sarah wishes for marriage based on love not lust And things seem to complicate for Edward first his injury leaving him one eyed and with scars on his face his drinking problem and even him accidentally overrunning Sarah with his horse on a dark stormy nightSarah has her own share of troubles too First her father being scared of her because her extraordinary gift of healing and then her trust in the said ability shaken when a girl dies And yes a husband who makes her melt into a puddle by his passionate eyes but who is hunted by his own demons tooCan God make all of this better? Can he teach them how to forgive and believe that everything that happened can work because the one in the control is Him?Very good book I do believe that this book addresses even important issues than the previous novel of a high uality The problems of nonacceptance by themselves and others hurtful memories guilt drinking problems greed problemsname it The previous novel was about the abuse and while abuse is a horrible problem I believe that the most of us are facing the lesser problems much often like the trouble with forgiving themselves and the control problems And Ms Long can wonderfully address them in an uniue wayPart of her uniue way is that the plot is somehow glued together by the passionate romance between the main couple And by passionate I mean sexually open But never cheap Ms Long writes about sex in marriage including some passion before marriage but not sex as a good thing as marriage should be good in this way too and I agree with this kind of viewHaving said that I must confess that I was comfortable about this kind of heated romance in the marriage of Joseph and Priscilla in the previous book because they were both the victims to sexual abuse so it felt good for them both to enjoy sex Here I could do with less pasion While I enjoyed a whole lot of Ms Long' s faith and wisdom I felt certain discomfort with Sarah feeling prejudiced about refusing to give the herbal contraceptives to the girl who was sleeping around I believe that there was never clearly addressed that the girl was the one sinning and making mistakes and that it is not judgmental to refuse her to give contraceptives to help her to get rid of the possible conseuences of her actions Sarah is not any anonymous healer she is also a member of a community believing in the certain principles She should live towards the said principles Having said all of that this is one good uality book It can teach you so much And the people teaching you that wisdom are the ones I would like to have in my own life I love the Ice Mountain booksThe series of Amishnovels about the community on Ice Mountain are different than any other Amish stories I've read They are fun and numerous at times This story is the 3rd in the Ice Mountain series It is a out Sarah and Edward who were courting but after Edward's time working on the oil this to earn money for their marriage he is a changedman Sarah is the community's healer and lives in the small house alone Edward is drunk and thinking the house is empty he enters removes his wet shirt and falls asleep on the floor When Sarah's father and the Bishop finds Sarah and Edward alone in the house though not together they are forced to marry This the story really gets interesting I am again reading out of order and part way through I realized I have read another of the Ice Mountain books but I don't recall which number in the series it was I also have another one in my pile one of these days I will grab the first one first when a title catches my eyeSomeone was talking about the Ice Mountain series and I thought it sounded interesting and grabbed a few different titles from the library but of course I didn't put them in order just stacked and grabbedThis one was different because usually there isn't much bedroom talk in an Amish book but this book hit it pretty heavy and not much was left to the imagination
